LSN ITQ Subject Specific Projects

These materials represent the resources used and produced as part of the LSN programme to promote and support ITQ with subject specific resources.

Subject Specific Value

Feedback from the colleges and staff involved confirmed there is real value in using subject specific resources to guide and support staff undertaking ITQ, especially in applying the skills learned to their particular teaching and learning activities.

Adaptability

In addition, the examples included here can also be used and adapted for other subject areas, as well as simply used as a starting point to develop new resources. The examples can of course be re-used and adapted in this way irrespective of whether the staff involved are undertaking ITQ.

Application specific

Staff may also find it useful to view the resources by software application rather than via any reference to curriculum subject. To support this you will find links to screens containing just Word, PowerPoint or Excel resources, as well as a screen with links, to examples produced with software under the bespoke category.

Tutorials

Many of the examples are accompanied by 'how to guides' detailing exactly how to create resources similiar to the example included. ITQ Trainers may wish to emphasise that staff undertaking ITQ should follow the how to guides to apply their skills and create their own resources rather than simply adapt the provided examples. With this in mind trainers may also wish to lock and password protect the examples or perhaps restrict access to the documents by some other means.

Content packages

To enable quick and easy upload to a VLE the ouputs from each college have been content packaged using Reload and included as zip archives. The Reload Content Package Previews are also included for viewing and navigating the resources outside of a VLE. It is important to note however that these content packages do not currently contain any metadata and therfore will not work with a content package respository. Colleges using such a system may which to edit the packages in Reload to add relevant metadata.
