If you are going to be involved in teaching using IT, either on-line or through the use of electronic resources stored in your institutions Virtual learning Environment (VLE) or Intranet, then understanding the concept behind learning objects and how they can be used should make the process easier

Web Resources
Learning objects are defined in different ways depending on whether your background is technical or academic. Web resources can therefore potentially contain information which may be confusing, for example, if you see the term "IMS" or "SCORM" then it is probably that the information will be of a technical nature.
