The ICT skills self-assessment tool is designed to identify individual present competence levels of ICT user skills. The toolkit may be used as part of initial or ongoing assessment of individual personal development and training needs.

The eCPD skills self-assessment tool is based on the ePD framework and any areas of development highlighted can be linked to the appropriate ePD unit and outcome. The tool is seen as an integral part of quality improvement designed to develop teaching and learning. The Common Inspection Framework has been mapped to the e-learning self-assessment tool and assists both practitioners and leaders through the use of reflective questions to consider how improvements can be made to teaching and learning.
